Barney Cheng, Fashion Designer
Barney Cheng studied Textile and Design at the Royal College of Art in London and Fashion Illustration and History of European Costume at the Parsons School for Design in Paris, before graduating from The University of Waterloo, Canada, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts Studio. Since starting his atelier Yenrabi in 1993
, Cheng's extravagant yet simple style can be seen not only on entrance-making gowns but also on less formal garb such as exotic skin items, jewels and even uniform design. His signature also extends to his famous cheongsam designs, which are often infused with a modern touch. His award-winning work has been widely acknowledged through awards such as "Fashion Designer of the Year" (SCMP/Harper's Bazaar
's Style Awards, 2010
) and "Hong Kong's Best Designer" (Moet et Chandon's Tribute to Asian Designers, 2005
), and for being one of Forbes

). Cheng is also known for supporting various charities through his work, including the Hong Kong Cancer Fund, the Crossroads Foundation and International Care Ministries.
